Ben Bayer

Google
Chief of Stuff
Ben started his illustrious career in the US Army battling the furious hordes of red tape in the battalion personnel office, afterwards receiving his B.A. from Emory University in Classics. He's studied abroad in Greece and Israel, and has learned to read 4 dead languages. He's still working on his English.

In answer to the ubiquitous question, "what do you plan on doing with a Classics degree?", Ben traveled for 6 months around the world finally landing back in Atlanta to become the program coordinator for the Health Sciences Humanities and Psychoanalytic Studies Programs at Emory, working with Dr. Sander Gilman.

In 2007 on a whim, Ben applied to this crazy tech company called Google and, 12 interviews and 6 months later, he miraculously persuaded them to hire him. He spent 3.5 years at the headquarters in Mountain View as Master of Space and Time and 3 years in NYC as Master of the Multiverse, a fancy name for the assistant to the VP of Research and Special Initiatives.

Ben is now living the dream in Boulder, CO with his loving dog, Argos and is currently the Chief of Stuff for Google Boulder, handling the office's outreach efforts, working with local partners, and trying to keep the engineers happy.
